Hi all,

New to the forum.

Been getting very interested in prospecting lately and are going to pickup a couple of pans, etc. and get started very soon. I live on the Gold Coast, so will most likely head out to Thanes Creek, Talgai or Durikai and slowly learn the methods.

One basic question, before I can go anywhere. Can I access any of these fossicking areas in a normal sedan, as I do not have a 4WD ?

Good question Phil, yes after you enter say, Glendons Caravan Pk. you will need to have a 4wd to head of into the hills. A lot of foot work needed as well, therefore your fitness level shouldn't be too low. It's all pretty hilly thru there.

Thanks for the info.

In Talgai fossicking area, I thought I maybe able to just pull of the side of the road on the Cunningham highway and just hoof it in. Guess it would be a bit of a hike.
Just looking at getting a bit of experience at the moment.

Any suggestions on places to get with a 2WD ?
