First kick-off meeting on the 23rd of March (Saturday) 13:30 to 16:00 in Goulburn.

Hi Kev....I would strongly recommend the newby's in your club to join prospecting Australia if they want to "fast track" their prospecting skills...as you know yourself.. there is a lifetimes' worth of experience here on the forum and very rarely does the newby come across this number of guys willing to share their experience. cheers Wal.

Following our informal get together in March this year, instead of a formal club type structure, plans are in hand to form a hobby type informal prospecting interest group under the incorporated encouragement and support of the Goulburn/Mulwaree Community U3A Organisation. An informal information meeting has been scheduled for Saturday afternoon, 10th August 2013 at the Mc Dermott centre , next to the P.O. in Goulburn from 1 pm to 3pm. All interested prospecting/fossicking hobbiest are invited to attend and be informed on how the group intends to function. This is an extract from Goulburn Mulwarre U3A Newsletter for September 2013.
The new U3A supported 'Special Interest Group of Prospecting and Fossicking Hobby enthusiasts,' has now been inaugurated with a few keen members and we will continue to grow as interest is shown by many other folk in our area to join. The group is developing, researching and planning interesting activities such as monthly field trips to local and interesting areas, especially historic gold fields and other historic sites to look coins, artifacts, treasure etc., and of course gold and other precious metals etc.,You would need to have your own transport or be able to co-opt with someone who has, supply your own tools, gear and refreshments. You will need protective clothing , be reasonably fit and be prepared to get down and dirty. A wonderful array of training material and learning opportunities will be made available for 'newbies' and a variety of folk of varying ages will be welcome to enjoy what is on offer.
If you are interested in joining the group, there is still time. Please give the U3A office a ring on 48225186 during office hours, Monday to Friday 11am till 1pm or...48236256 after these hours for further information.
NEXT CALENDAR MEETING SEPT 14 at 12 noon at The Mc Dermott Centre, Next to the post office in Goulburn's main Street....Auburn St,..... We plan to have a meet at this location every 2nd Saturday of each month unless otherwise notified, or is a school ho;iday or public holiday period.......Hope to see you there.
