Hello fellow prosprectors,

I am quite new to the gold hunting game, and have found I quite enjoy panning as opposed to metal detecting (Maybe because I have never found anything with the metal detector). I frequently visit one particular place to pan but must say it seems like slim pickings these days. Maybe because the ground has been thrashed over the years. 8.(

I would like to know of how to find a good place to go panning?

Or if anyone is willing to share in a location that would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and before I forget to mention it I live in Melbourne.

Welcome to the forum. There seems to be quite a surge of members from Melbourne. Is it worth putting up a map of Australia and those that wish can mark where they are from? Might be an interesting exercise.
