Hi there,

Being new to this game i am confused (could be a permanent thing too)

Can some one please explain the difference between the Infinium and GPX5000 (except for the price)

Thanks

Wow, that's huge can of worms you've just opened. :D
The minelab Gpx5000 has been designed with one thing in mind only.... TO FIND GOLD.
Before the arrival of this machine, any gold at a certain depth had laid undetected for decades.
Then WHAM, along comes the Gpx,capable of punching deep deep deep into the highly mineralised soils of OZ and a whole new goldrush starts!
While the Garrett Infinium is a mighty fine machine, it's just not got the punch and rightly so. It wasn't designed to be an out and out gold detector, it's a go anywhere land & sea machine, capable of doing the job wherever you take it.
Detecting is all about depth and if you can go deeper than everyone else, you're onto a winner.
The Gpx can run almost full tilt in the mineral soils, most other machines barely manage 50% sensitivity before falsing, ground noise and Emi start to bash your eardrums to pieces.
It isn't always the case that the more you spend the better the item, but in this case...... ;)
Now, if you're asking this question because you are thinking of a purchase, then hang on some and wait for some detailed side by side comparisons of the Gpx and the new arrival Garrett ATX. Actually, we're all waiting for that one.
Have a good'un.
