Fossicking licence in WA.

Can someone please inform me what the licence requirements are for gold fossicking in WA?

A friend just called in and said they have imposed a $70 licence fee that lasts two weeks, sounds very unlikely to me.

And no this doesn't sound right. Unless private property then they can charge what they want, which sounds more like whats happening?

Cost $25 for life...
As Westaus says some properties may charge that though I have never heard it...
