Thought I will post this.

Radio Station 2EC in Bega are broadcasting regular updates.

If you are in contact with friends and family,

BateMans Bay and South to Bega.

Go South and take the turn off for Bermagui,
Travel through to Tathra,
Travel to Bega,
Travel through to Cooma,
Travel to Canberra as the Parks Roads are all closed.
The Princess Highway to Victoria is closed.

From Victorian Border.

Travel to Bega via the Princess Highway.
Do not detour as the other roads are being impacted by fires and smoke.
The Cooma Turnoff is 5 Kilometers North of Bega and well signposted.

The roads have been opened for Evacuation Purposes only
so drive to conditions as smoke is causing some hazards.

We are expecting Catastrophic Conditions on Saturday so if you are
holidaying here please make a safe exit via the route above.

Great post Tathradj, it's a shocking situation for so many.

Jaros it doesn't matter how much water you have at hand when a fire storm comes, they are uncontrollable and indiscriminate and the safest bet is to get out early.
 
It is as bad as it gets and it is predicted to get worse.
Myself and my family are going to stay here in Tathra no matter what.

Where I live in Tathra I consider it is the safest place to be in the possible
event of a fire.
I will be standing and defending our house.
Also, I am putting in power backup for our phones and internet.
It will give me a bout a days worth and I can charge from my solar
panels if need be.
 
I woke up this morning & put the news on. Truly terrible situation up & down the East Coast, Inland & into Victoria.
I hope everyone stays safe. Best wishes to everyone in the fire zones.
My heartfelt thoughts go out to those that have already lost everything
 
Finally all the tourists are leaving the Shoalhaven
Being escorted by police from all the coastal towns at 30 cars per run
Then told to head north NO axcess back into these towns
Bumper to bumper at 10k per hour
Banked up about 20k all back street exit roads out of Nowra now at a stand still

Bega Showground, High Street, Bega NSW 2550 - open until further notice
Eden Fishermans Club 217 Imlay Street, Eden NSW 2551 -open until further notice

I have been in some horrible situations in the past with the RFS and SES.

It is a situation that I am prepared for. :) :)

Bumper to bumper on the hwy today getting out on tele.
The police are having a hard look at arsonists in Tassie.
 
We had next week booked and payed for in tahra 2 bedroom apartment witth pool , if any one has lost their house and the resort is still operating contact me and we will make it happen.

Doug is there still internet in tathra ? We emailed the resort and made the same offer , not sure if they will get it or be operating next week.
 
Tathra had one great selling point (its feul load was removed 2 years ago in the fires and thats why we booked after changing our booking from batemans bay about a week so ago.
I have been informed no decision can be made until saturday by the owners.
 
The fire will come from the North and the only
thing we have to worry about here in Tathra is ember attack.
Our house is tucked in behind a brick 2 story building next door.

Also we were sheltered from the big fire by the units across the
street as well.
