I just got my SP01 + Audio Adapter Lead for my SDC the other day, went out for a test run and though I didn't find any gold I'm pretty darn happy with the setup. Am using a wireless transmitter (stuck to side of SP01) in order to use my bluetooth headphones, very slight delay but it's definitely usable. One thing I was curious about... while testing a range of different filter + audio threshold setting combinations, I found that I could achieve practically 0 background noise with the audio threshold set to first level and sensitivity set to 2 on the SDC, along with setting #2 on the SP01. With these settings I was able to find a couple tiny 0.15g steel shots with just a single faint beep enough to make me scrape the surface and confirm proper back/forth signal. I think it would have been very difficult to pickup had I had the usual constant threshold buzzing, as they were relatively deep targets. Does anyone else use the SP01 like this, so that there is essentially no audio unless the coil goes over a target? Is there any reason I shouldn't be using it like this? I'll have to test it out some more in the field to see for myself but curious on others opinions.
