Just wondering if anyone has been using/tried these...
They look like they could be perfect for days out in the summer heat ... Under a wide breamed hat ;)

Iv got a set but haven't even tried them yet' I could give them ago and report back after the weekend' I looked into making a set but it was going to cost nearly the same to make them up than just buying some, goldsearch also have a different set.

Got a pro detector mate in WA who only wears this type of earphone. If you're in hot areas they'd have some great advantages.

I got them because I hate sweaty headphones and they will also cut noise on windy days.

I use Samsung earphones that come with my mobile. And little FM transmitter plugged into detector. Beats headphones ahy time and cost few bucks.

Bad ears and prone to ear infections - earphones tended to compound the problems for me - extensive cleaning but I still managed to re-infect my ears. ear specialists advice - don't use them if you have bad ears. Pity, but there you go. Headphones for me and a speaker if conducting training or detecting with kids so they can hear.

I haven't tried these type detecting but I use a similar pair made by Sony did my MP3 player and you can hear anything else but the music. Only downside is the plug starts to crap it's self after a while

I've been using inner ear headophones lately, as I find my Koss ones, although comfy, tend to slip off and don't quash the noise of the waves quite enough. The only downside to them is that they tend to get tangled in my pinpointer lanyard all the time when checking out a target, a coily cable should fix that.

Having sweaty ears isn't exactly pleasent either with full cup headphones.

The advertised headphones on the first post look to be reasonably good value, and volume control is a must, especially on detectors like my Ace and G2.

Let us know how they go Sandta. :)

I got a set similar to these for hot weather, they are fantastic but they do make my ears gunk up unfortunaly.

What receiver are you using?

I bought these exact ones off ebay and are pretty hardy however the quality of the earbuds themselves are not that great and they do not block out external noise. The buds are reversible: in-ear (with rubber) and sit in ear (plastic). The rubber side did not work for me (kept falling out) but the other was ok. Oh and I didn't bother with the under chin tube thing I dont think it is necessary.
They are great for hot days, they are lightweight and the coil in the lead works well moving from digging to swinging etc.

Hope this helps.

Just thought I would share this for anyone thinking of using earphones, I have been using these Shure SE215 for about a year now and are great. The cable can be replaced and is Kevlar reinforced, the last bit of cable before your ear is formable that goes over your ear and keeps them in place all day. Produce great range that suits the CTX and GPZ well and are small and easy to carry and they isolate noise very well. The only problem is they have a 3.5mm male not a 6.5mm so you need an adapter to use them but I have got an extra module for the GPZ and put a 3.5mm female in it instead.
