Camping ground recommendations? Northern NSW or South Qld

Hey guys, I'm planning a getaway for a few days during the holidays so I'm on the hunt for a nice camping ground, I would like somewhere close the water for fishing and shower and toilet facilities for the misses. I'm looking for somewhere in northern New South Wales or lower Queensland but would consider other areas. 4 wheel drive access areas is not a problem.

Do you want to go inland or more coastal? A place we have always wanted to visit is platypus flat on the nymboida river. Im not sure about showers though.

Most likely coastal as we have family at coffs harbour that we might drop in on, open to suggestions though.

Probably a bit late, but maybe good for next year. North Haven is a great little sea side village. Well worth a few days or weeks.
