Hi guys and gals..I kicked off this hobby last year with a basic xterra and really did not enjoy it,I was struggling with it all lol.so frustration took over and I sold it...I want to give it another go and am considering the ace 200i to start again..is it a good choice,or at least a better...

Lol will throw up pics tomorrow.....it's funny because my yard is the reason I wanted a detector...it's been back filled years ago and were in a flood area.my kids are always bringing in old bits of glass or porcelain...there will be plenty of stuff to find I just need to fine tune my skills...

Well I fired up my new toy and with virtually no instruction reading and no idea I went into my back yard and after much confusion and digging,lol,I found an old penny and an old half penny...I still have no idea on precise use but I was rather happy!

Yeah I'm just attempting it now! One thing I like is the lack of graphic for coin etc..a lot of detectors I looked at had it and I figure that's for us cash,not ours...so I'll be selecting from a number which will show metals as they are not what some American symbol tells me If it isn't can I...

I use led lenser and Coast led torches for work and find both to be reliable,hard wearing and both brands throw a really good light

As above,is pin point function on a detector a necessity for someone starting out...I intend on buying a hand held pin pointer as well Thank you for your help and patientce
