Keeping your hand in at detecting!

I just found a new way of 'keeping my hand in' during this 'lockdown.....the mower sh*t itself, so I've just 'hacked down, about 800 sq m of grass with the wipper-snipper! I've ordered the part to fix it, but in these days of stress, I'm guessing its on a 'slow boat FROM China' So, if I have to...

    Tenegraph on I Pad

Hi guys, I just acquired daughters old I Pad, and last time I was in WA some people were using Tenegraph on I Pads/phones with gps and google earth. I was wondering if anybody knows how to set this up (especially for 'numpties'! lol) I've tried mr google but don't seem to be able to find what I...

    What VLF to compliment PI?

Ok, after a recent detecting trip I am wondering about adding a VLF machine to my collection! I was detecting an area in NQ, plenty of old workings, and I have a choice of an SDC or a Z, so finding targets was no problem, but...the areas contained so much "trash" it was seriously disheartening...

    Anyone from WA?

Hi! I'm looking for information on when the 'detecting season' starts in WA. I wanted to join Twapsters jaunt but work got in the way dammit! However, I should be able to get some free time early next year, probably late Feb through to mid April, and I would like to know what this time is like...

    First aid kits

Ok, planning some trips away, anything from a weekend to up to 6 weeks, and my thoughts go to taking a first aid kit. After much poring over the internet, I'm just confused! I can buy a simple, 1 person kit, for maybe 25 bucks, or a "serious trauma kit" for nearer 300, and basically deal with...

GPZ7000 and SDC2300 covers, bags, and cases?

Hi guys, any recommendations for covers, carry bags, and/or hard cases for 7000, and 2300? I saw one post on here re covers (cant find it just now!) but wondered if there was any alternatives, and I would like to source a soft carry bag (preferably padded) for the sdc, and maybe a hard carry...

    dual/multi battery system

Hi guys, after some help designing a system for my Ranger and trying to make it versatile! The basic system is easy, original car battery, redarc (probably1220) charger, and a 80ah AGM auxiliary battery. This may occasionaly be used with solar, but that should be fine through the solar panels...

    West of Alice

Hi. I just caught an item on the radio today about gold being found 400k west of Alice. Its an area I have just started to do some research on as being "less explored" (maybe I'm already too late! lol) It seems to be mostly aboriginal land so I'm guessing difficult to get permissions on. Just...

    coil choice 101?

Well there's a lot of coils out there, mono, DD, eliptical, in many different sizes and shapes, and this all must have some effect on depth, sensitivity, size of target, ability to detect in hot ground etc. I was hoping the 'professionals' out there might give us numpty's (well I hope I'm not...

    Which state?

I'll apologise in advance for the long winded post! I have just been notified I'm getting a 'bequest' from the U.K. from an aunt who recently passed (gotta love her!) It wont be mega bucks, and I'm sure the sensible thing to do would be chuck it into my super....but I was never good at being...

Just came across this, maybe you guys have it already but http://www.ga.gov.au/corporate_data/11165/Rec1963_082.pdf I know if I read it about 10 times, I may decipher about 10%, but I also know there are a lot cleverer guys than me on here! ;)

    on a budget!

I spent a couple of hours at Georgetown (unsuccessfully!) the other day, (had to go there for work) and realised I was lacking any real digging gear. So, a trip to Bunnings, and I have picked up a plastic scoop, small mattock, and folding shovel for under $25. Now I don't think the shovel is...
