Was asked by a good friend to help scoping out a patch of land hes got tied up hed been told by two so called pro's that it wasnt a good spot n not much gold about . So after 2hrs of panning he and i got this ;-) ... but shhh no gold there lol

Did u end up working out if the ground hold any value ?? I live at blacklead and have done all my life gulgong gold is tricky but there is plenty about if u know what to look for if you get stuck n wanna know for sure id be happy to help u out

Yes brumble-gum it was great meeting you and your boys its an awesome hobby we have and maybe one day i can take you out to find some for yourself topaz is a magic gem but very elusive here in gulgong but i do know were to find some bigger ones just hard work unfortunatley

No i wasnt on private property but unfortunatley u need permission to fossick there witch i always obtain first you are slightly correct in thinking most of the good gold us up to 60mtrs down but there are a few spots were the old leads were forced up to the surface or remained as shallow leads...

The purple one was a jellybean quartz untill we attacked it with a dremil drill and cut it into an octaheadron was only a coincedence it had amythest hidding in there ..

Wow wat an action packed week end took some lovely new ppl fossicking friday and saturday but with no water about it made alot of spots very hard to work but of course the cudgegong wont run dry so we had fun eventually but a visit from Rastys 1964 on sunday bought one awesome down pour if rain...

Im rather lucky it looks very transperent in its entirety but unfortunatley im still learning a lot about gems as gold was my addiction until i found my first good gems :-)

Turns out the green stone is a sapphire very rare for tge gulgong area especially the fact that its 53 carat stone omg im chuffed az thanks to gold689 for the awesome advice and tips about gems i just hope all my clients go home as happy as i do love my job :-) weekend ever we seen a pink...
