    My misadventures......

Well I'm back, but haven't yet been back to mates shop. Whilst gone my eldest son loaded several small skips, mostly from the backyard but also rubbish left internally from the squatters (mostly empty booze containers & food packaging like pizza boxes, chinese takeaway etc.) He also found an...

    My misadventures......

I'm all ears on any advice offered. Europe beckons tomorrow though, guess I should start packing. Hoping my Son texts me with a worthwhile find or two on the roof in the meantime? Cheers.

    My misadventures......

    My misadventures......

Middle Son went up into the roofspace using his phone as a torchlight. We laughed as he went into a sneezing fit but he brought down an envelope that had some Jack Daniels advertisements/labels? that I've never seen before? There are 6 of them. Need to know how to upload photos to share,???

    My misadventures......

Yeah hopefully, Apparently from what I'm told backpackers were rented out for many years ago above the old antique shop (rear stairway access from the lane). But squatters whilst its been vacant have done the most damage. One back room downstairs in particular just reeks of urine Sad in so many...

    My misadventures......

Brushcutting out the back is done, as is the racking into a pile ready for the skip's arrival tomorrow. There is a fair amount of broken clay through the grass ( outside pots?). It caused cr@p flying every which way with the brushcutter, not fun. When racking I did find a largish rusted wood...

    My misadventures......

Lunch break finally, We moved all the remaining firewood from the shed & packed it into our 3 car boots. Will drop it off at Bro in laws for his open fire. Behind the wood stack we found 2 things, some charcoal stacked in the corner, I filled 6 plastic shopping bags with it. Will put it to use...

    My misadventures......

Well that storm front that ripped through parts of Melbourne last night caused a fair bit of damage overnight. Our power went out a couple of times during the night. Then we awoke at first light to find that a branch from the neighbours front yard had given way & decided to rest itself across...

    My misadventures......

On the downside, a friend of mine recently went through a divorce. So in order to keep his business & Super he basically handed over the family home & holiday house to his now ex missus. But the split was amicable, they both still talk ok & the kids do not get played as pawns by either side &...

    Today I BOUGHT

Picked up an aluminium 12 foot extension pole. Its made washing the outside windows today at the back of the house so much easier (I have a slightly sloping block from front to rear). No more dragging the big extension ladder around the backyard as I go now. Only need a bucket of suds, the pole...

    Teeth

Amalgams contained mercury, So its a bit like a dental version of asking for asbestos as roof insulation these days. Gold is not a problem for restorations, but most people today look for a more aesthetic alternative.

    6 months alcohol free

Most of us have skeletons in the closet somewhere, admitting you have a problem is one thing....having the balls to attempt to rectify it is entirely another. Congrats on 6 months sober Ramjet, No doubt you personally encountered various difficult situations in that time frame, yet you still...

    Teeth

Maybe he/she meant they don't do amalgam anymore? Gold & amalgam restorations are two entirely different things. All the big refineries (Degussa, Heraeus, Argen etc) still produce dental gold alloys for use today.

Searching in the wrong places !

Ha ha, I know exactly how you feel johnb. Here I was over the Christmas break showing the extended family the 3 small nuggets I've so far found (for a total of 1.03g). "What a waste of time & energy" my 21 year old then told them. "I pull anything from 1 point something to 3 or 4 grams + of...
