Any difference between flat wound and spiral wound?

Now I am confused. In simple terms, what is the difference between a "flat" wound coil, and a "spiral" wound coil? I am about to choose either a 14x9 NF evolution, or a 16 round CT Elite. Will run it on 4000 with Li polymer wifi unit and booster. Using NF 12 round advantage at present . longjok

I had the same concern as you. Now the lump of metal I carry round is...

    Question about charcoal when detecting

Charcoal will give afairly broad but "worth investigating" signal. Not likely in mullock heaps tho' more likely in virgin ground from old bushfire remains. However dig it out!!! Twice I have found nice nuggets beneath charcoal. longjok

    Detecting with artificial knee.

I have been detecting since 2003 with a left leg prosthesis.....big lump of titanium. No issues except with our new high performance coils when anything above a 16 inch mono I get interference. If I find a patch (rare, but it does happen ) I work it with mono & dd until I think I've covered it as...
