    MINELAB on a budget

I’m looking at the entry level options too, hoping to find a good second hand one I can afford. Is the gold monster is difficult to use where there’s a lot of ironstone? I liked that it’s easy to use but I have s lot of ironstone in the area. Is it better than the 2300? So at sea with the...

Is this rock apatite? Found in Northern NSW

Thank you for your reply. I found it near Grafton below a rocky ridge. The surrounding area was basalt and sandstone. I left it there so can’t test it but definitely hard and jagged sticking out of conglomeration containing pieces of quartz and iron

    Torrington Area

Im astonished a tungsten mine was approved for exploration right next to a conservation area with current recreation use, historically and culturally significant and having 45 known endangered species. The loss and damage from the fires was horrific. This EL should be revoked. It places existing...

    Torrington Area

Thank you for that info. So, its still a publicly owned trail and we arent trespassing. Unfortunately weve had a bit of rain so will have to leave that area for another day. Flogging off exploration leases without consideration for existing use or the wider impacts is very disappointing.

    Torrington Area

Hi, Im on my very first fossicking trip around Torrington. A pair of complete novices with a map from the information centre and a ton of enthusiasm. Were confused by the private property signs on some tracks. Are people no longer allowed to pass through the conservation area?

Is this rock apatite? Found in Northern NSW

Goldilocks, its not in a quartz vein but looks like lots of quarts bits in the piece of rock and theres rough quartz scattered around the area, not smooth. No mines nearby. Ill look for veins of quartz when I get back out there. Theres a steep incline so maybe it broke off and tumbled down the...

Is this rock apatite? Found in Northern NSW

The coloured rock in the photo is about 2cmx3cm. I havent figured how to reply to individual posts or like them, but all such good info for me. Thank you. I found it on a low ridge on a faultline, on private property, northern nsw, so I only took a photo and left it there. Lots of quartz...
