Hey all, thought I would share another one of my productions from my Fraser River claims in BC. I got a hold of some new Down Draft mats from Doc over at gold hog and gave them a good run. I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with my results. Enjoy!

The Fraser is a bit of a funny system. It is not really known for a lot of big gold so bedrock isnt always a guaranteed hit. The whole setup is home made. The top box was made out of yellow cedar in the wood shop. Later I decided to add the lower 4' box. The hopper was the last piece of the puzzle. All of the aluminum was cut with a skil saw in the garage and taken out to have bent and/or welded.

There does see to be a pretty friendly lot here. Had a chance to come across some of your countrymen in Turkey for ANZAC and we had a riot. Prospectors are usually pretty friendly too, and the bonus is that you wont find me sneaking around on your claim.

Those Hoffmans are great! Makes me feel like I am doing something right when I see them at work. Their test pans are nothing to write home about either.

I will say too, the limited concentrates are a treat after using moss and expanded steel.

The main part of the highbanker that you want working well is the hopper. Any shop with a break can bend up a sluice and you can put what ever mats you like in there. What counts is being able shovel into the unit with having to stop and clear rocks off of the hopper. I like being able to shovel...

Over here in BC there are a lot of regulations regarding mining. We are not allowed to go near the rivers here with a highbanker, let alone a dredge. We have to be 30m from the shore unless panning. Nice haul though, makes me wish I was on the gold when I was there instead of the VB and shielas. :D

Thats a good explanation indeed, might be cheaper than rinse aid in the end too. My biggest secret is to keep all the gold under water.
