    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

Ya that is one of the best things about the hog mats. After 3.5 hours of running I only brought home 1 liter of concentrates. I also have a gold cube and it turns that 1 liter into 1 cup. The spring floods are just around the corner though, so I dont think I will be touching bedrock this...

    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

Hey all, thought I would share another one of my productions from my Fraser River claims in BC. I got a hold of some new Down Draft mats from Doc over at gold hog and gave them a good run. I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with my results. Enjoy!

    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

The Fraser is a bit of a funny system. It is not really known for a lot of big gold so bedrock isnt always a guaranteed hit. The river also comes up another 10-12 meters in the spring when the snow melts so there is a huge volume that washes through and moves the gold around. So there is gold on...

New to Higbanking - Gold Rat Highbanker or other

I hear ya. We do have plenty of gold in clay up north, and guys do struggle to break it down. I am lucky that there is little to no clay exactly where I am, but you dont have to go more than a km to find it. My main reason for coming up with this design was to solve the problems you stated. Too...

    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

The whole setup is home made. The top box was made out of yellow cedar in the wood shop. Later I decided to add the lower 4' box. The hopper was the last piece of the puzzle. All of the aluminum was cut with a skil saw in the garage and taken out to have bent and/or welded.

    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

Sorry mate, I built that one from scratch. Although there are no others like it, it was easy enough to put together. I did a little write up on the build if you want to have a go. http://gpex.ca/smf/index.php?topic=12513.0 I put it together for about $250 CDN

    Weekend Miner over Canada Way

Cool down with a Canadian winter prospecting video. :D Here is a video that I shot of a recent trip up to my claims on the Fraser River in British Columbia. The real star of the show is my vibrating hopper. It makes my job much easier out there and it feeds the pay at a nice slow rate. Enjoy!

Here we go, this is what you need! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIvVdJodU08 I built this myself, but it shouldn't too hard to duplicate

    silent newbies and guests.

There does see to be a pretty friendly lot here. Had a chance to come across some of your countrymen in Turkey for ANZAC and we had a riot. Prospectors are usually pretty friendly too, and the bonus is that you wont find me sneaking around on your claim.

Those Hoffmans are great! Makes me feel like I am doing something right when I see them at work. Their test pans are nothing to write home about either.

Gold Hog mats information and questions

I will say too, the limited concentrates are a treat after using moss and expanded steel.

Gold Hog mats information and questions

How mu water are you guys running on top of your mats? Recently ran mine, but still have some tinkering to do. I run UR-UR-razor-scrubber-razor-razor-scrubber-razor-UR-UR for the top box and scrubber-razor-razor-scrubber-razor-razor in the bottom section. I like it so far, but I have only had...

New to Higbanking - Gold Rat Highbanker or other

The main part of the highbanker that you want working well is the hopper. Any shop with a break can bend up a sluice and you can put what ever mats you like in there. What counts is being able shovel into the unit with having to stop and clear rocks off of the hopper. I like being able to shovel...

WalnLiz Gemstone and gold fossicking videos.

Over here in BC there are a lot of regulations regarding mining. We are not allowed to go near the rivers here with a highbanker, let alone a dredge. We have to be 30m from the shore unless panning. Nice haul though, makes me wish I was on the gold when I was there instead of the VB and shielas. :D

    miner or bust S04E04

This guy is legendary over here in BC. The hardest working guy on Youtube. I'll post my latest vid when I hit the 10 post line!

    Floating gold

Thats a good explanation indeed, might be cheaper than rinse aid in the end too. My biggest secret is to keep all the gold under water. If I am panning and the water is able drain off of the pay dirt the gold is likely to lift and float. If it is really a problem, dont be afraid to give your pan...

    Hey guys

    Hey ya from British Columbia

Figured I might join up with your lot to see whats going on down there (up there if you subscribe to the Aussi map of the world). I will post some of my innovations when I am allowed! I have a couple of claims on the Fraser River and have been getting better and better gold as I go. No nuggets...
