QED users - how are you faring?

RUSH, when the pitch of signal is changed now it does not invert signal. I have the updated version with the new facer and buttons. I think pitch change would be good to add it back in the QED some how in the future though, it's a very handy feature to have. :)

Minelab Gold Monster 1000 tips and questions

Cando, In the right soil this little machine hits hard and deep on small pellets etc. and looks like you got it running well. Keep at it mate and the right areas and i am sure if there is a small nugget it will hit it. I got a good spot just in mind for it, but other commitments at the moment...

QED users - how are you faring?

The AGB will never get spot on in very high mineral ground, it will get close, but never spot on and it never will in my opinion, well not in its current configuration. But in mild to medium/high mineral ground it should go very very close and will come in good use. mbasko, nice nuggets, looks...

QED users - how are you faring?

mbasko, This my view on it and how i see this machine. The QED as i see it is a reverse threshold machine, but the designer has cleverly allow you to hear what's going on in under the NULL, lets call this the under world. Now just like all under worlds there's the Good, the bad and the ugly...

QED users - how are you faring?

Davent, Try not to use BIAS in your area, try to keep Threshold A up as high as possible and keep the ground balance mode open and your finger ready to adjust the ground balance on the fly. By having the unit BIASed in hot variable ground you are causing your self to really never have a true...

QED users - how are you faring?

Mbasko, I have a QED, only had it a couple of weeks. Been getting to know it more, testing on buried targets and basically getting the feel for it. I don't use any boosted audio device for it whatsoever. In my opinion you are just boosting unwanted ground and emi noises, this detector was never...

Garrett LS Infinium information and questions

nesral, Its this thread that got me originally thinking about infinium setup. http://forum.kimbucktwo.com/index.php?topic=6153.0 I have been very happy so far going straight to the locked GB position using the DD coils and setting the threshold just right. Have used the detector with this...

    What Bullet s this?

Talk about interesting projectiles, I found one day a hexagonal lead projectile whilst detecting. I kept it, its around the place here some where, you no that safe place where everything disappears to. If i dig it up, i will post a picture of it. It looks like this, but had been fired and the...

    What Bullet s this?

I would say a .58 0r .50 3 band minnie ball, from a muzzleloader (blackpowder). The minnie ball round was invented by a man by the last name of Minnie. They were used a lot in the American civil war, but are very popular even today with muzzleloader shooters. :)

    Headphone compatible hat.

A good thing about the frillneck in summer is you can wet it with water and wring it out and it keeps you cool around the neck and head. :) I forgot to mention that the funnel web hat is a good idea, but i was a bit disappointed they used cardboard in the brim instead of plastic. All though i...

Garrett LS Infinium information and questions

No worries Goldpick about the headphones, just thought i would ask. I see that a company makes those garrett waterproof connectors on a 3d printer, they are made from some form of plastic. I do recall years ago trying to chase up one of those waterproof connectors and gave up. Would be...

Garrett LS Infinium information and questions

That large dd coil is a heavy beast alright and it is a weird design two, i never did like it. It falsed all the time when you bump it in the bush, I think i got muscles in my S**T after using it for a weekend. A white tail rat chewed my 8" mono right through the coil windings, so that was the...

    Whites TDI Pro Oz mods

alwayslooking, There is two ways to run this machine for gold. One method is to raise the gain just before the ground balance window gets to narrow and stop. Depending on soil mineralisation the gain with this method can range from 3-4 in high mineral to 8-10 in benign soils and anywhere in...

Garrett LS Infinium information and questions

When i used the 8" mono it would false on any thing i bumped into, the large dd was the same. But this little 3 x 7 you can scrub that thing on the ground and no falsing, i am hoping the 5 x 10 will be the same. I think you bought yours second hand from memory? It could of had a hard time before...

Minelab Eureka gold tips, settings, questions

No Bob, That's not what i meant. What you have to do is if the gold is associated with a particular stone in the piles, just pass that type of stone over coil. In your case it seems to be associated with these red stained rocks or rocks with red banding through it? and leave the rest. :)
