I have been there a couple of times. Everyone had fires when I was there at Easter last year. Great campsite with huge diggings right beside the campsite
Hi all, I went to Reedy Creek for the weekend. Plenty of water around for running pumps. The area near my camp looked like it had been dredged. Huge piles of tailings and stripped bare bedrock right along the bank. There was also a trail of destruction left by others digging huge holes...
There was quite a lot for sale at the expo. Many different brands of detectors, coils, all sorts of prospecting tools & gold recovery equipment, camping gear. I don't know why you would enter just for a detector charger
I did, and then took them out as they held material up too much causing the spray bar to be knocked by rocks. I think I either can run baffles or the breaker bars, but not both at the same time. I am currently experimenting with what works best inside the barrel
Thanks Jaros.
It is currently running at 13.5rpm. It is a 2 speed motor so I will try it at 19.5rpm this weekend. My new pump had also better arrive by Thursday. I have planned an entire long weekend around washing rocks
A decent video this time:
I have just ordered a 4700gph pump. The 3700gph pump I currently use isn't enough. It struggles to wash the rocks in the barrel and supply enough water for the dream mat to work as efficiently as it should

I am sure it is a waste of time, it is just a local place to take the kids for a bit of fun for an arvo outing. I guess I won't be setting up any equipment there!
Hi all,
I was curious as the the legalities down at Andersons Creek in Warrandyte. A park ranger there told me only panning and river sluicing was allowed there, and that highbankers with water pumps were not allowed, even if they were fed by shovels and buckets.
I was under the impression...
I have added some baffles inside the barrel to slow it down. I have also changed out the barrel to have twice as many holes. It was an expensive project but great fun
Thanks, I have done a fair bit of equipment design, mainly robotic work cells.
Here is the latest video from last weekend:
