    I'm excited !! (+ WA prospecting queries)

Yep can camp and detect on pending but 2 things to be aware of: firstly just make sure the blue pending area isnt on an existing tenement (so essentially a special prospecting licence). You cant prospect there without either a 40E for the underlying E lease or permission for the holder if the...

Would like advice on which detector.

Theres a 2100 on Gumtree in Perth for 800 bucks with battery and 3 coils. If you could find another 300 bucks, the 3500 for sale on Gumtree in Perth for 1850 is a great buy and bit easier to use than the 21 as has auto ground balance https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-wa/minelab/page-2/k0l3008845

Missing Prospectors & other Persons (WA) Western Australia

"Officers reminded bushwalkers to carry a personal locator beacon, especially if they are in a remote area".... Sound advice :)

Missing Prospectors & other Persons (WA) Western Australia

The WA state government should make it a law that all prospectors MUST have a GPS or PLB. Link it with 40E applications or something. Appoint rangers to check for compliance and issue fines. After the first few fines, people will take note. I know many areas out here like the back of my hand...

Questionable Sensitivity of old NF coil on 3000

Thank mate :) Ironically thought of the UFO and will keep an eye out. Likely a dodgy coil then. Good to know. I have a 22" DD and a couple of 14" DD's so may give them a whirl too.

Questionable Sensitivity of old NF coil on 3000

Yes have one....however the 6 and 7 are so damned sensitive that its literally 2 hours to detect 2 pushed rows, simply as stopping every few foot to get it with the magnet :(

Questionable Sensitivity of old NF coil on 3000

Odd question and situation :) Despite owning a 6000 and a 7000, I have been playing around with the old 3000....Looking for something not quite as sensitive to small small small bits of loader bucket shard. Love those detectors but when scraping and detecting, I am forever stopping to pick up...

    Where do I look?

Big digger, open up the ground from shaft to shaft....

    Which GPS to buy?

No you dont need coords for a 40E application. You just select up to 10 graticular blocks within the live E lease that all must share one common side.

    Pegging A lease in W.A

Even pegging an SPL on a E that has been live for 12 months is no guarantee of success. Mining companies will often object as they may argue that the SPL would interfere with their activities. Wait til it goes live then negotiate with the holder.....

    Kaolinite?

Can confirm at one metre down, no signs of life :( Nice rocks though...pity none of them are a gold colour :) The bedrock is mapped as metamonzogranite, but we are very close to the contact zone with the greenstones....might have to move a bit further west....Have found many many bits on this...

    Kaolinite?

Doing a bit of loader work on one of our leases. Hit this stuff again. Its white inside and iron stained on the outside. Breaks easily. One smack with pick and the rocks break. Inside is white and if you look closely there may be small clasts or fragments of other rocks in it. I am thinking...
