I would of thought it would be fine as long as excavation was done by hand .. and samples of any amount as long as each sample of a bag or bucket is no more than 20kg per per bag or bucket .

Winch wires are about 12mm in dia and connect to the main battery except for one wire the control box earth thats about 3mm in dia and conects to the bullbar if its earthed properly or on the chassis ... i worked for OL welshpool and 4x4 and more that are no more doing major and minor fit outs...

I send stuff and have it insured and only use registered mail with tracking numbers . Just in case it does get broken along the way or lost .

Buy a small trailer and mount a roof top tent to it ...
