If it fires up it will be a good tool to learn with as most of the finds will be junk anyway. Low and slow and tune it to understand the difference between lead and metal.

Thanks for the feedback guy's, after l get back from a trip in May may invest in some learning.

Only recently moving to detecting, l have started with a couple of VLF detectors. When using the headphones, the emitted noise is completely different to that given by the external speakers. Is this normal and l have to learn to read the different noises between external and headphones...
