Thanks Matt, Well be up there next week. Dont mind the hard work to get to ( good ground ) as long as we have our gps with us, well be ok. Havent stayed at the dam before - is it good access to the campgrounds ? We travel in our motorhome towing a 4wd. Thanks, Col

Wattle Flat / Sofala NSW information and questions

Hi Dyble, Spent a week at Sofala at the end of October. Detected around the Upper Turon not far from Greens Point - no luck. Very slim pickings these days, so were told. Youll have better luck at HillEnd up the road. Had some luck at Ophir though. Cinken

Gold Digger Safaris John Dyer NSW

Thanks Baldy. Haven't been up that way because of the roads. We pull a 4wd Suzuki behind our motor home and have heard the gravel roads can be pretty awful. perhaps we'll get up there one of these days. There was a good write up about it in this months Gold Gem & Treasure. Col

Gold Digger Safaris John Dyer NSW

Hi Nucopia, yeah, thanks for answering. He is not IT savvy. No internet at all, which makes it tricky when trying to see if they're ridgy didge. They advertise in the Gem, Gold & Treasure and state they've been going since 1985. But I know of no-one who's taken any of their prospecting tours...

Gold Digger Safaris John Dyer NSW

Has anyone been on a " Gold Digger Safari " ? Self drive prospecting. John Dyer. These are run from their Base at Toronto NSW. It's $850 pp for 14 days, which sounds reasonable. They do :- Tibooburra, WA & Central West NSW. Thinking of doing the NSW, just wondered if anyone could give me a...

    Detecting in the Triangle

Hi T, Thanks for that, appreciate it. I have a Minelab 5000. I auto tune every new area as well as testing the depth with my gold sample. This is my first try at Vic detecting and boy is it different what with the undergrowth & buckshot you need the patience of Jobe. Still no gold only buckshot...

    Detecting in the Triangle

Thanks Madhatter, I have Tully maps for my areas, and using them all the time. They're guiding me thru the leads of Tarnagulla at the moment. If I'm in the right area I guess I'll just keep digging. Thanks again, cinken

    Detecting in the Triangle

G'Day all, I'm here in the triangle ( for the first time) finding nothing but buckshot. I've done Creswick, Dunolly & now doing Tarnagulla all without success. I even bought a new Evolution coil - but still no colour . Is there any colour left in Victoria ? Any tips of likely spots ?? :(

Is there a Kilo Club ?

Hi Mbasco, Hahahahahaha, that's very funny mate. You've obviously got a great sense of humour ! I was trying to be ' low key ' about our find. I didn't want to appear bragging or boastful. As my avatar shows, my wife is holding the 1.68 kilo nugget in her hand, before we cleaned it up. We also...
