Hi Dyble, Spent a week at Sofala at the end of October. Detected around the Upper Turon not far from Greens Point - no luck. Very slim pickings these days, so were told. Youll have better luck at HillEnd up the road. Had some luck at Ophir though. Cinken

Thanks Baldy. Haven't been up that way because of the roads. We pull a 4wd Suzuki behind our motor home and have heard the gravel roads can be pretty awful. perhaps we'll get up there one of these days. There was a good write up about it in this months Gold Gem & Treasure. Col

Hi T, Thanks for that, appreciate it. I have a Minelab 5000. I auto tune every new area as well as testing the depth with my gold sample. This is my first try at Vic detecting and boy is it different what with the undergrowth & buckshot you need the patience of Jobe. Still no gold only buckshot...

Thanks Madhatter, I have Tully maps for my areas, and using them all the time. They're guiding me thru the leads of Tarnagulla at the moment. If I'm in the right area I guess I'll just keep digging. Thanks again, cinken

G'Day all, I'm here in the triangle ( for the first time) finding nothing but buckshot. I've done Creswick, Dunolly & now doing Tarnagulla all without success. I even bought a new Evolution coil - but still no colour . Is there any colour left in Victoria ? Any tips of likely spots ?? :(
