GPX 5000 has anyone used it at parks and beaches

I have had very good success with my Equinox 800 on the beaches. For beach use, I wouldn't swap it for the world. I stick to the bush for my GPX 5000 and SDC2300.

Ever Lost Your Nugget Container In The Bush?

Yep! we learn by our mistakes. You were very fortunate getting that jar back. The green paint on the lid was a good idea.

Ever Lost Your Nugget Container In The Bush?

I learnt a valuable lesson of never putting my container of fine gold in my top pocket. (Still a noobie at the the time.) It contained 2 grams of fine gold and must have dropped out of my pocket when I was in the river with my small sluice. The Shoalhaven River has received my offering. The only...

    In My Day

The street we lived in was part of a hill and my two next door neighbours, Clive and William and I would pelt down the steep hill on the billy cart that Dad built. It was high adventure for us and a challenge to keep the cart on the footpath. That's me steering with William behind. (Helped me...

    In My Day

When I was seven and still living in Putney, dad bought his first car. It was a Mayflower. A gutless wonder at best. For our holidays we went down south all the way to Melbourne towing Dad's home made tiny caravan. (Talk about faith!!) If I owned it there is no way I would have even considered...

    In My Day

Great stories guys. When I lived in Putney in Sydney as a kid we had an outdoor toilet with a cement path to it. If you went to the toilet at night you had to dodge all the black spots on the pathway. These turned out to be funnel web spiders coming out at night. Apparently, our home was built...

    Gold rat 6"

The 6" gold rat sluice is able to work in slow and fast currents. The dreammat catches even the flower gold. I am extremely happy with the results. One of the best investments that I have made. In the faster currents put a rock across the top of the sluice to stop it moving and I have even used...

Gold Rat Mini Cleanup Sluice / backpack Highbanker

All I can say is I am super impressed by both the 6" Mini Sluice and the 6" Highbanker. I used the mini sluice out in the field with a pan at the end to see if I lost any gold, (the river was running fast!) checked the pan and not a speck of gold. It was all caught in the dream mat. A fantastic...

It's a hard luck life! Please Sir! I want more!!

I like your outlook on life Shaun. Life can be hard for us but with a positive attitude we can move on and still enjoy life. I have a tongue in cheek statement which I share when I talk to people, "It's tough being a pensioner but somebody has to do it," said with a huge smile on my face. The...
