    Old fossicking photo

Ahh, of course!!! Thanks grubstake. For you guys that are close to the nsw art museum in Sydney, I highly recommend a visit. It's free and there is a new building there too. I feel like I must have gone there at least once as a kid on a school excursion, but I can't remember.

    Old fossicking photo

This is from the nsw art gallery. It was done in 1893 by walter Witherspoon. Does anyone know what's going on with the scoop things? There is another thread on here that has giant scoops on a dredge, but these are smaller. One thing it would allow you to rock while putting your dirt in. I...

    Solar control

Hey moneybox, I had two of those cheapies burn out on me and a third just stop. I had exactly the same setup (Panel wattage and controller voltage/amps) which ran fine for months 20 meters away I don't reckon the specs on those match what they say. With that said, they have worked fine on...

    Mudgee area

Thanks Mbasko. I didn't know about the crown access permit. Yeah, maybe I will head out to hill end, its been a while since I've been there. The other option is to have a bit of a play between Sofala and Capertee. I've been to those places before and I really like them, but I thought there may...

    Mudgee area

Hi all you rock-washers out there, I'm heading to Mudgee in a couple of weeks with the family. I'm looking for a common area to throw my pan in. I'm thinking common knowledge areas similar to Tuena, Oallen, wattle flat etc, with relatively easy access. Places that everybody knows about. The...

    The Good News thread

I finally figured out how to stack my knives well in my dishwasher cutlery tray. Only took 5 years. Storing lengthways meant they slid out of their spot. They were too long to store horizontally. Diagonal was the winner! A good news day indeed

    Snake Gaiters

I had a mate get bitten by a brown when I was a lad in army cadets. He wasn't wearing gaiters and I think it bit his boot first. He was OK in the end. But I remember him just running after he got bit, he was on the trail just a ahead of me. My daughter trod on a black last summer. Didn't get...

    Winter panning waterproof gloves

I've used the big red chemical gloves you can buy from bunnings. They work, but are clunky.

    home wind turbine advice

Thanks everybody. Sounds like a bit of buyer beware is in order. It will be for a permanent set up. Ridge, can a turbine be paired with any wattage panel, Say a 200w? Happy to research it if you are unsure off the top of your head.

    home wind turbine advice

Hey All, Has anybody used the home wind turbine setups? I'm not talking about the big ones to power a house, but something like a 400w one. This is a random one I pulled from ebay. There are heaps on there and I suspect a bit of research needs to be done. But I was wondering if anybody had any...
