Hello Members.

A friend from Toowoomba Qld. has rang me to ask if I could put out this message.

Last week his detecting mate had a break-in at his home, with them stealing his new GPX 6000 etc.

The serial number is 97864349664, as brand new.

Unfortunately his safe with all his nuggets inside, was ripped from the floor and taken too.

If anyone can help with information, or is offered a bargain price to buy a 6000.

Could you please send me a PM or email thank you.

Best regards ozziegold.

Most that would buy it off the scum that stole it would not know or care about the serial number.

He should go and look on his patch.... if it was loose lips that caused it, the mongers could be out there now detecting with it.
Or,
There could be footage of the mongers in the shop when it was purchased.

Thank you Members for your responses.

Yes it does sound suss to me too. The police would have to think that as well surely.

G.H. He has reported the serial number to M/Lab, and detecting shops in Qld.

I think if it was me, I would make up a list of all the ones who knew about the 6000 and gold safe etc.

Thanks all, best regards ozziegold.

It would be great if minelab developed an app like Apple which is find my iPhone , instead being find my minelab for the more expensive models. Imagine if you could track your detector and found it being used remotely around mineshafts.Arrrgh the possibilities!! :Y:

 :| you just gave away a few million

Not exactly what people searching for the elusive element would want, yet again is probably already in the R&D stage or implimented with or without the functionality existing.

Find anything won't work unless the battery is powering the unit to my knowledge

I really hope the/these scumbag/s are identified.

Sorry to hear about this.

As an aside fitted trackers to my trailers and 2 vehicles, as well as toolbox. When I was looking for them a few options were small enough and capable enough to be suitable for a detector.

You can set geofences (boundries) and schedule alerts on the bigger units, might be something for others to consider.

Never thought to put one on a safe, maybe need another.

Have a safe by all means but just don't keep your goodies in it, put them somewhere safe.
Just need one big enough that they can't carry it :playful: Probably just an opportunist looking to fund his next fix, found the detector and then figured there could well be gold? I find the violation one feels is worse than the dollars lost myself when burged.
Would be interesting footage watching someone carry shite down the drive with my other security system hanging off their leg. It's also a bloody long drive  Also like to thank Double D Leather for the custom sized collar :) ;)

Were I worked we had a cash box in the office . There was nothing in it , the cash , a few hundred bucks , was hidden in the filing cabinet . Yes , we were broken into but nothing taken , in the days before security systems .

If you have to park overnight in any of the big cities , leave your glove box open . Less likely to smash their way in if they cannot see any thing to pinch .

It will all be better soon when that idiot from the World Economic Forum gets his way and we will all own nothing and be happy, so with owning nothing there will be nothing to steal.

I don't think they would use it for long as a GPS tracker would probably EMI your head in
