Hi everyone, I have been given a very lucky 1hr in white Rock Quarry. While I'm here in SA. Does anyone know what to look out for when hunting the famous quartz crystals that come out of the ground there. Any info would be appreciated even if it's links to other sites.

If your wondering how to get in. You can get in through the horsnell gully conservation Park. When you enter the park there is a track on the right that winds up the top of the mountain and it'll take to a fire track that goes straight into the quarry.

Is it worth the risk? :)

I just bumped into this post and now I know why the kids spend so much time scraping the dirt at our empty block.

The base was put down 17years ago and I believe it was from this quarry, as it contains some awesome quartz crystals.

Miss 6yrs found a cracker, then promptly lost it after I told her to place it somewhere safe, it was really well structured and clear as, no chips and long.

Kids... LOL

kids are awesome collecters and i think its due to their keen sharp eyes being close to the ground
reminds of my own kid when she was 6 was at a coin show at the Perth casino and my kid found a very rare 1923 halfpenny in A/unc turns out the owner was getting valued and he missed his pocket and dropped onto the ground, I got her to hand it in and the guy who valued it gave her a mint set for her honesty and the owner gave her a 50 buck card

kids A :gemstone:
