Just a bit of a project I have been working on, making a Viking Axe, started with a $20.00 axe from bunnings and cut/grind it to shape, was trying to acid etch the design onto the metal but it didn't work properly, I need to learn a lot more about acid etching.

So I just painted the axe and painted the design, this one will probably stay like this and if I want to try again just buy another axe from Bunnings when I think the acid etch process has been learned

Anyhow a few pictures of what I have managed to do

So this morning i tried a little bit of forging, after watched some youtube vids on forging arrow heads, so gave if a bit of a go, the only round rod I had was 5mm round and they were using something like 10mm round

There ones turned out about 150 grains (9grams) aprox and mine turned out about 80 grains (5.2 grams)

More practice is needed and some 10mm round rod
