Small Brass Frame id ?

Found this one.
Small Brass Frame with, it looks like it has some numbers stamped in it.
Length is 9cm by about 6cm
See picture's.
Any Idea's what it may have been off?

Just a guess, but maybe a cart plate holder or a frame from a shop door that an open/closed sign slid into.

As above or from something like a filing cabinet draw (old wooden type cabinet) that card with description of contents can be named and slid in / changed as required ?
