Extracts from a story in the Bendigo Advertiser by Luke West. April 18th 2013.

Basically a 37 year old Qld man, came to Maryborough Victoria and camped overnight at the Princes Park which is a local football ground. He proceeded to dig between 80 and 100 holes in the footy field and when confronted by police said he had a Miners Right. He is described in the paper as a gold prospector.
Parks staff are trying to repair the damage so the ground can be used this weekend.
The Qld man was fined $282.

Wtf?? That's disgusting behaviour.. It's things like that that will spoil it for everyone :/

His name was Doug Madivett, and he's a Goal Prospector. Yeah, he's a well known digger AND sportslover. He combines his two passions with a total disregard for everyone else in the universe.

Mad as a startled teapot too, he was a throw-in from the half-wit line. He's variously known around the country by such colourful epithets as: The WACA Wacker or the Sandgroper-Sandgopher out west, in Queensland they call him Maroon Baboon and consider him to be Allan Langer and Clive Palmer's love child (AND smarter brother, and aunt). When he was on his last tools tour in NSW he was caught putting in a trench to intersect an imaginary reef just short the 800m post at Royal Randwick Racecourse.

When he nearly drowned at the Sydney Olympic Pool while dry blowing asbestos tailings in the diving pool we proud New South Welshpeople sent him on an all expenses paid trip to somewhere more deserving of his talents. The obvious place was Victoria.....Bloody Beauty, One for None

You mexicans have really demonstrated No-balls when all you could manage was a $282 fine! It won't stop him, hear it first from us.... he'll be back for certain. A rumour we accidentally mentioned to him as he left the state (changed trains at Albury) was that the Etihad Alluvials were Docklands best kept secret, and a Trommel would be the only way to process the highly mineralised field, of course the tailings dump will be in the dressing room showers and a sluice run through Bay 13.

Good luck with that nutjob, he's your problem now!
