Yeah but doub't it. How many years has the SDC been around ? It still only finds small gold

nice find by Reg, and as for "only finds small gold" and if you only look on mullock heaps that have been done to death then that saying is probably true, but if doing research like Reg does and looking for new areas then bigger colours can be found as Reg has proved.

What a ripper piece, plenty of character ..... regardless of detector you have to walk over it to dig it up.
Just a couple of comments a these posts ......
First, whoever thinks the SDC only finds small stuff obviously hasn't been around for too long, some great nuggets have been found, ditto the Gold Monster, also some big nuggets.
Second, the words "property owner" tells you something, in places like Vic & NSW most of the potentially larger gold now resides on private property.

Yes indeed, can verify that along with many other ounce sizes in between. Then there is also the gold that the SDC has pointed to that's then let the Z do its job. Depth may hinder the SDC on occasion, but the only effect of the size of the gold has been on my ears not the detector. Nothing better than digging for what sounds like a horse shoe to then find the money .
