It does look more like the Equinox style, but I have read its more of a hybrid between the 2, the bottom of the screen may suggest it has some CTX DNA. It also says Multi IQ + .

It's lighter than the equinox only 1 model punches deeper had 2d target image on screen and is $1599 USD according to a launch video.

I see Minelab have released the new Manticore in the UK with an example for all to see. I just checked their Australian web site, not even a mention of it here! It's big news in the USA with hype all over social media. Would have been nice for an Australian Company to release it here in our own country first! May be I'm being a little to patriotic! What's your thoughts!

I suspect it's very much a relic hunting machine and as such, Minelab may struggle to adapt its features to Australia's typically mineralised ground.

The more specialised relic detectors from mainstream manufacturers Garrett, Whites and Fisher have never sold well here, so it's no surprise that Minelab are pushing it where they see the greatest sales potential. Locally, they've probably already got a lot on their plate, with GPX6000's selling like hot cakes and faulty ones coming back for repair/replacement in significant numbers.

Just another globalist company that don't deserve our money. Spend local, and minelab is definitely not a local company any more.

Actually, I just heard a Minelab guy in that video clearly state is was just as powerful as the CTX. So that is game over for the CTX.

looks awesome, I though my nox 800 would be my all the time machine but if this is waterproof and had the 2d target id and GPS mapping that the CTX3030 has im keens mustard! half of my mates still use the CTX but theyre old batteries have been replaced a few times and the recovery is so slow compared to the equinox.
