Missed out on a bargain tinny today

Was in Kiama on beach checking local listing's on FB market place,

1980 alloy 14ft tinny on registered trailer with a 8 horsepower Honda with 10 hours on it $600 :inlove: it was in burril Lake so an hour or so downstream, it was listed 13 minutes earlier , by the the time I replied it was sold :awful:

No that was a bargain for sure. If anyone in NSW has a tinny 14ft or smaller even a little punt with a motor on a trolley for under $1000 PM me as I'm keen now.

well I got one today, cheap and basic, 10ft old rivited hull and a 3.3 mariner. It's my first outboard so if anyones familiar with the mariners feel free to give me tips on what check and service, thanks.
No trailer but pretty simple to transport.

make sure the plugs in and dont try draining the hull until the boats out the water

I'd change the leg oil, fuel filter, plug, rip cord and also clean out the fuel tank.

The motor will already have one fitted near the skeg. It's just a small block of zinc that will corrode before the alloy or motor does.

try and find out how long ago the pump impeller was replaced ,you don't want that dying on you
