Manilla NSW detecting

Good evening,
I have just purchased a property in Manilla NSW and want to go detecting for coins, no matter where they come from but particularly interested in old Chinese settlements. Any ideas where to start in this area? I have an Equinox 800 which I am trying to learn.

Can't help with the area but good places to research would be the Manilla Historical Society & Museum, local library & historical parish maps.
