Due to my advanced age the Legend dig up every target is pretty useless for me as I haven't got much time to lose, and it only has AM mode if I remember correctly.. For gold prospecting I would be more interested in the Deephunter as it gives a probability in percentage figures as to what metal the signal is. It also goes deep and is very stable in mineralised soils.

The Legend has:
Advanced Discrimination Settings
All Metal, Ground Effect Off, Ferrous Off, Custom (Notch Discrimination).
Also has a Ferrocheck feature.

The Deephunter is a nice looking detector but in a much higher price bracket:

I am in Belarus with lots of munitions in the ground from WW 2 so even the Deephunter may not prevent you digging up a hand grenade. Only the dearer imaging models costing heaps more at $ 10,000 would stop you being blown up. Belarus has tremendous potential for finding valuable artifacts as the ground is littered with Napoleonic and looted artifacts the French Army discarded on their retreat from Russia,
