Hi all!
I recently inherited some rough, blue sapphires from my father - I think he found them in Queensland. I want to sell them, but have so many questions and would appreciate any advice/help anyone is willing to give, My main ones are:
1. Who can I go to for a valuation/to buy them? I live in Melbourne.
2. Should I get them cut before I try to sell them?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Have a look on eBay for how others are selling rough, individually for good ones and batches for good smalls. Bombs are bombs and may not worth your effort disposing of other than as a bulk lot.

It might be worth you while contacting your local gem club and get some free advice on what might be considered a cutter as they will be worth selling either in their natural state or after cutting.

Otherwise post some photos and let the Forum give you some feedback. There are a few gem cutters on here that may offer you a swift easy transaction for the lot.

Goodluck.
