That myth is ridiculous, the Mayans made a new calendar every however many years and since their civilization died out their last calendar ended on 21/12/2012

The Mayan calendar is 5200 years long. I guess people didnt know that! The Mayans never predicted the end of the earth, only that their new calendar starts on the Winter soltice (in the Northern hemisphere) 0n the 21st December 2012.
