Hi we found these at an old gold miners camp, possibly 1800's. in north Qld. the size = 2cm at top x 3.2cm at widest point x L 4cm

There is no rust on either object, the back has silver showing through so made of good metal type.

Can anyone identify these, we thought maybe from a powder flask? have found musket balls in the same camp.

Hi grubstake the back of the one with the saddle is showing silver on the hat and on each side at the top looks like where it was attached to something. on the dears head on the back is also showing the silver. We think these are silver plated that's why they haven't rusted, they have been buried for over 100 years because of other items found in the old gold miners camp as well as coins dated back to mid - early 1800's.
I have tried to enhance the photos
kind regards

Could you please put something like a coin next to them, for perspective.
VERY nice find.
They could have been glued to hide, they would have been soldered on if to a metal flask.

Nice finds leadshot! Not having evidence of a fastener on the back is a bit curious.
Hunting clubs did give out medallions, which is a possibility here, but there being two of each design, I'd say they're decorative pieces, probably from a saddle/tack and were glued on. Don't think it's a powder flask when there are four of them.

Cheers,
Megsy
