After a quiet few weeks late January, the snapper have come back on the bite , a drift over an inshore reef using a very small ball sinker behind a size 4 hook with squid on works a treat

You can catch them at Nambucca heads to if you have a boat...

They get pretty big down there... Not mine, but I wish... Pic taken during the 2019 Snapper Comp... Winning Fish was a 90cm Monster..

12 months has passed but a Real Grand Daddy.
Going by memory & subject to Dementia. The growing stage weight names of Snapper Eastern N.S.W
Cottony Bream up to 1lb.
Red Bream. 1lb to 3lb
Squire 3lb to 7lb
Snapper. 7lb plus.
Grand daddy. 18 lb & over.
So some people say they caught a Snapper `but` Red Bream or a Squire in many cases.
Try this Stone The Crows just after a heavy rain sea storm.
On a Cove type beach that collects junk. Cast amongst the weeded areas the rubbish ground where the Rays and Puffer Fish usually hang out.
A piece of mullet on slightly heavy line as you will be winding the weed in also just nearing a high tide.
It will pee you off weed and swash but the results is truly amazing.
Don`t have any pics on this but have a witness i think we were to busy getting them in our belly.
Silver Bream are good but no comparison to Snapper. Poor Mans Lobster ( Red Rock Cod ) i remember as better.
