Yes , when I saw it I knew it was a glue bottle . It was a whitish glue used on paper , think it was called "Glory " or something like that .

Maybe it was called Clag ?

Ink bottle from old school dump .

I've had my eye on a road cutting sporting old glass over the years.... probly should check it out incase they cut through a back yard. Nothing else there now that would give the game away... and it's close enough to permanent water too, they woulda needed that way back when. Nice seeing old bottles come to light fellas. :perfect:
making my mind tick over :Y:

Got out for a new year's day hunt in the water. Scored a couple of nice silver rings - they were very tarnished and had been in the water for some years I think.

Also found what I thought was a penny. It's about 34mm across which is the diameter of pre-1860 UK pennies. But the thing that has me baffled is that it has slanted reeding on the edge (see pic), which UK pennies, as far as I can tell online, don't have. Maybe it's a token or it could be a foreign coin. Unfortunately, it is so worn that I can't even guess what's on either face of the coin. I like these little mysteries...

At the beach this morning before it started getting too busy. Found a nice silver ring marked SIAM STERLING so made in Thailand. The Vicky sixpence is worn almost smooth on the other side, but would be 1870-80s I think going by the young head. I few bits of junk jewellery as well to keep things interesting. Oh, and a glass bottle stopper than came up in the scoop.

A few good finds in the water the other day - my old patch continues to provide some good finds. The best for me is the 1886 farthing that's come off a necklace I assume. There are four rings - the one at the front is 18ct white gold, while the other three are silver. All of the rings needed a fair clean and looked like they'd been in the drink for some time. Also a bit of bling, including what I think is a tie clip. Happy hunting. Clod.
