Get yourself a pack of Andre's Crayons from Clegy at detectorist.com.au. They are very good for cleaning up the detail on old coppers, and do not remove the green patina if cleaned properly - have used on many of my older coins.

Here's a picture of the kit from when Silver used them on some of his coins.

Being very new to this I was wondering what is the best way to clean coins. I would hate to damage any finds. Thanks in advance.
