Not long ago Id stumbled across the subject of a new polymer made from bi products or factory waste ( sulfur and orange peel ) by a South-Australian team at Flinders University over @ http://www.chalkerlab.com

The polymer has the power to absorb mercury and other pollutants from air, water and dirt. A better description can be found here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/anie.201508708/full

I've had a bit of a chat with Justin and one of thier interests currently, is working with hg+au amalgams and seperation.

Very exciting

I may have mentioned this before, but I've got full understanding of it now and thought I'd share again.

Imagine hanging a bag full of that in a gold bearing river downstream enough from the old diggings that the mercry/gold amalgum is micron sized and water bourne ( hee hee hee). :p
