Hi all,
I’m just back home after a week of slogging around the Avoca area, I have to say though I’ve never camped in such wet and miserable conditions. The ground is saturated everywhere and the detecting very challenging.
Nevertheless I came home with a few hard earned bits of colour and some muddy gear to clean up.

I'm back in the city for a while @RM Outback . May go back next week before taking of to Robe for a while. :)
Ah ... Robe, you going to follow the path the Chinese took to get back to the goldfields? Awesome work of late SL hope that ounce piece finds its way under your coil (or mine).

Hi Folks,

Went out for a swing in the local area yesterday with Gregyem. It was great to get out with another member and chat about all sorts of stuff (including the gold we have yet to find) The gold gods must have been on holidays as we struggled to find anything but hot rocks. We did manage to uncover one little piece locked up in conglomerate so all was not lost. A big thank you goes to Greg for making the day a really good outing.

Stopped At Creswick today for a couple of hours.
Got these bits and that round ball whatever it may be.
That ball was down about 40 cm and in the end I had to get the pinpointer out as I thought I may be chasing ground noise.
Undug ground and I felt the weight in the scoop when I got it out.
Thought I would have a money shot but it's not to be. 😆
