I second Qlden's suggestion of Pirates Gold Prospecting Tours. I have done a couple of camping tours with them which were very good. Yep you can contact them via their FB page. If you're heading across to the NT via the Great Central Road, you will love the trip. I did it a couple of years ago.

Usually only see the odd Eastern Brown where I am (GT) at the start & end of summer. After an encounter for the rest of the day every bendy stick turns into one. I once dragged about a 3 footer out from under a bush. Needless to say I went one way & snake the other.

A bit of topaz that I cut into a square cushion barion design (the barions were interesting to cut). This was my 2nd stone & I posted it several months ago. My Mrs has since had it set by a local jeweller. I'm hoping to be able to set future stones myself into tailor made castings

I agree with Harry, I bought a 7000 from EE Day & Son (Ballarat Gold) & they & in particular Mark Day has been fantastic to deal with. I live an hour & a half away & have a local retailer which I had previously purchased a 5000 from & they were also great. But I found EE Day & Son exceptional...

G'day all, Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy quality jewelry settings that I can easily set stones into that I cut? E.g. ring & earrings settings etc. I'm thinking quality in terms of Stirling silver & maybe gold. Best regards Mark

Yep mate, I've found the same. Once I dig a bit of clay out, I test both the hole & the spoil. If I'm getting the same signal from both, I fill the hole in & move on.
