i saw the sky light up early last night near the nsw/vic border and reports of pieces of a meteorite have been found and collected near Mallacoota vic on FB so very interesting.

Was good to finally get out again for a days panning.The bigger piece at the top weighed one gram.

Recently brought an old Gp Extreme and enjoy trying to get the best from it. Last two day trips found some little ones and plenty of the usual rubbish you find around old gold fields.

Agree with what mbasko said good advice. The soil there is fairly medium and make sure you take a rake and i like to use Special on the front switch and on the lcd screen run fine gold for a bit more depth and sensitivity, dig every target to get to understand the sounds the detector is telling...
