New High Power Nugget Detector Coming From Garrett!

Well so far the reviews indicate the machine can get the tiny stuff down to 1 grain no depth tests on bigger nuggets yet. Looks like it is gonna sell around 3999.99 usd. Sounds like a decent little machine, but I will keep my gpx6000.

New High Power Nugget Detector Coming From Garrett!

My latest issue of ICMJ magazine there is an article interviewing Garrett, towards the end of the article they say a new high power nugget detector will be coming from Garrett at the end of summer. They are putting the finishing touches on it now. I am hoping this is the half sine hybrid nugget...

Aftermarket Coils for the GPX 6000 - Coiltek

Older coils were bundle wound leitz wire. Maybe 5-6 yrs ago flatwire spiral wound hit the market for the gpx 4000, 4500, 5000. The flatwire coils can be as much as 3" deeper on nuggets over older bundle wound coils.

Aftermarket Coils for the GPX 6000 - Coiltek

Yes, I cannnot understand why neither NF nor Coiltek is making any flatwire coils for the 6000, I want to get away from the cheaply made malaysian oem flatwire coils, but flatwire coils are so much better depthwise, bundle wound is all minelab would allow these companies to produce. And use...

Minelab Gpx 5000 - using Fine Gold

A dd can save your hunt when the soil is still wet from rains, even if surface is dry wet pockets can create havoc in alkali desert areas.

New Fisher Impulse Gold Nugget Detector

Besides the nugget pi in the works with Fisher, there is supposed to be a new multi freq simultanious Fisher coin/jewelry detector on the way soon. Kinda late in the game but if it works it will be welcomed.

    Living with Electric Vehicles

Ridgerunner, I agree with you, EV is ok for suburban/city travel, maybe day to day driver with in 40-50 miles, but when it comes to prospectors, and towing heavy loads, EV fails dismally, range diminishes to under 90 miles on a charge, pretty useless for me. We are caught in a huge squeeze now...

Nugget Finder Mono 8x6 Sadie Coil

Flatwire wound coils win out every time on smaller gold, I noticed I am now getting porous gold as well where I wasn't with oem gpx coils.

    Whites Bought Out!!

I also hear Garrett is going to produce small parts for the older machines such as batt boxes, etc. This came from the factory in a call. I hope the whites lineup will be produced again by Garrett, time will tell.

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Since the gpx6000 gets 3/4 grain nuggets all way up to retirement nuggets with one setting, I would say GeoSense has to be a group of timings being scanned all the time to process signals. No other way your gonna get grain size nuggets and gram to ounce to bigger nuggets all with one swing...

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

Looks like we will have to hope the aftermarket coils guys can build us some Flatwire coils for the new GPX. Too bad it couldn't have used our old gpx coils. That coil connector is way different than the pins on the old gpx. I won't be buying til I see some flatwire coils available for it. If...

Minelab GPX6000 release, general information and questions

The GPX6000 appears to be built on the same format as a Gold Monster, 10 manual settings 2 auto settings, auto emi, auto Gb, what a great idea! Can't wait for some on the ground reviews I trust.

    Whites Bought Out!!

I have high hopes for the half sine hybrid nugget machine Whites was working on. Carl Morland developed the machine and already had prototypes on the ground when he left whites in 2014-5, Whites just didn't have the engineers needed to debug and bring that machine to market. Supposedly the half...

    Whites Bought Out!!

Well, Garrett got all of Whites machinery necessary to mfg Whites detectors, including a state of the art circuit board assembly machine and a soldering machine for the boards too. And they got all the held patents and new projects too and software needed for mfg of new machines. All the defunct...

    Bounty Hunter Red Baron

Red Baron was one of the first motion detectors I bought one when they first hit the market, and one weird quirk was that the faster you swing the deeper it would go too up to maybe 6" on coins. For the time it was awesome I got handfuls of silver coins with it when this machine came out, since...

What Made You Get Into Gold Detecting?

I got into dredging for gold in the late 1980's weekends, did pretty good locally a few ozs, mainly shirttail creek, did that off and on with my two young sons for yrs, then came the dredge ban in Calif,, so I took up nugget detecting around 2013 with detectors as well as some drywashing. I had...
