I was considering this myself upgrading from the mxt pro and 5.3 coil to a GM1000 or makro gold kruzer.if it's not worth the cost for reward maybe il save for a PI

So i put some new batteries in and it turned straight on like new????? Would batteries almost flat cause the earlier problem? Guess il take it for a swing and see what happens

So tried that tonight wouldnt come on.took battery pack out repeatedly checked connections.all i can get is a whine coming from the box but no lcd screen :N:

Hi all I purchased the mxt pro acouple weeks ago.it appears in very good condition and whilst I was out on weekend detecting I bumped the 12" 300 coil against a tree by mistake.it wasn't very hard but the screen went blank straight away.i turned it off checked everything and turned it back on...

Sorry for digging up an old thread but there is some amazing information to digest and remember. I got an mxt pro a couple weeks ago and the 300 coil seems very noisy.im going to order the book mentioned in the thread and try study it. A lot of internet reading says the 8x6 sef coil is very good.

Nice report Lee.i have a coinmaster gt.today I found a 20c piece 18" down in dry sand but this machine is dreadful on wet sand.would love something that actually worked with wet sand
