    Minelab Gold Monster 1000

Yesterday, I felt a bit frivolous, and lashed out and bought a GM1000. Well today after the 3rd step I took, yes it was the first hole there was a little 0.06g piece of yellow. I have for many years detected, but mainly for coins and happened across a few pieces of yellow before. Other finds...

    Lapidary and rocks

I was trying to avoid picking through it all to find the bits most suited to people, the back and forth of emails, then packing it up for post. There's nothing like picking your own, then you know what flaws there are to deal with.

The powders are actually made at the sister factory in Mulwala. I've worked at the Benalla site for the last 23 years. I personally use 22.6grs of AR2207 behind 40grs Vmax proj in the 223 for foxes. Reminds me I have to do some more reloading.

    Australian Lapidary magazines for sale

I have a collection of Australian Lapidary magazines from September 1969 to June 1978 missing a few issues for sale Was going to put them on ebay but will give members first pick of the issues. I was thinking about $2 each or 5 for $8 plus postage. Probably able to do better on larger quantities.

    Help with ID

I'll have to see if I can find that piece. It's over a year since I first posted it so it should have tarnished if it is brass. Now where did I put it.

    Help with ID

I think, I solved it. I've had some in the tumbler and parts of it seem to have mica like inclusions, giving it a sparkling effect. Hard to get a sparkling effect in a photo but most of the little bright spots are in the stone. Aventurine ???

    Wanted lapidary saw

Looking for a slab saw prefer around the 12" in size, would consider smaller slab/trim saw with a vise. I'm not after something fantastic, just a saw. Would consider one, without a motor or with leaking rusted out coolant tank. Maybe even a vise assembly as I have a shaft/bearings and blade...

Help with ID from an old collection

The lumpy bumpy off white one next to the bucket is a nice double sided quartz cluster in need of a clean. A couple of months ago I got his old robilt tumbler and a 1/3 hp motor and he threw in an old robilt single ended grinder. I need a slab saw now (when my wife lets me)

Help with ID from an old collection

I have just bought an old collection from a friends father, sight unseen, not alot of money so I thought it was worth the risk. He was into tumbling in the 1960's and I believe was a member of the Wangaratta lapidary club, but it all got packed up and not looked at since he moved in the early...

    North East Vic Agates

Finally got around to having a play with some of the rock I've been finding. I've only done a few cabs before, done with about 120 wheel, then to 600 grit lap, sanded to 1200 then polished ? on felt. I forgot I even had some polish in a small bottle, don't know what it is but the part label...
