My son and I detected around a old workers quarters on a farm near home on the week-end..He managed to score a 1948 sixpence and a 1944 penny with the ace 250 and I scored a 1960 florin with a small ding on the side and a penny..date unknown yet..wth the x-terra 305..then we went to the gymkhana...

Went back out to where my son lives and he had permission to search a local sports oval...we did 4 days about 3 hours in the mornings and 4 hours in the afternoons..He managed $230 and a .925 silver charm bracelet with 4 charms on it with the Ace 250 and I scored $250 and a bracelet with a heart...

looking for some ideas on members thoughts about the best beach detector .? ...

My son and I went and detected a couple of sports ovals in his home town ....we put in about 15 hrs over 4 days ..these were found in 3 days and all up the total over the 4 days was $210.....his finds are on the left and using a Garret Ace 250 and mine on the right using my xterra 305...I reckon...

Thanks to Prospecting Australia I got to meet Rodstar on Sunday and we went down to his local park for about a hour..I took my xterra 305 and we managed to scare up a $2/50c/2c/1c and a lead sinker also a few squashed up aluminium screw caps :)

Thought I'd say hello, Grahams the name...I live on the central Qld coast just south of Mackay..retired last year itching to get out swinging,if the rain ever stops..I have a GP 3000 & just bought a x-terra 305 to try for coins etc...looks like a great site here...cheers 8)
