Fisher Gold Bug Pro information and questions

Hey guys, I am about to buy a fisher gold bug pro as my first detector. It comes right into my price range ($800) I just want to know if you think this will be a good buy for a gold detector. I have watched a few videos and read some reviews saying it is quite good. Has anyone used it or...

The Golden Triangle GT Victoria information and questions

Thanks. I had a brilliant weekend. I found heaps of junk but no gold. We went to Dunolly but I feel like the area we were in had been searched already (lots of previously dug holes). But I'll be back at it soon!

    New panner/ detector.

Thanks guys, awesome feedback! I feel like the whole panning process is a bit of luck. I guess it helps to be panning where I am in an old mined stream. It is lots of fun.. I probably find gold in ever second pan. But a tiny bit at that. Twapster, I am going to hire a detector when we get to...

    minelab pinpointer pro-find 25

Thanks anger management.. I am mainly using it in the dry bank of the creek.. I have only been finding very small colour. I wasn't sure if the pinpointer would pick up such small gold. Thanks for the advice. You may have just saved me $180. ???

    New panner/ detector.

Hi, I am just starting out in this game! Loving it so far and have had a small bit of luck panning in the St. Andrews, diamond creek area. Such a rush to find gold in the pan at the end of the process (even if it is tiny). Just wondering if it would be worth getting a pin pointer to help me...

    Panning my local area

Thanks Mattem. I'll start panning over a bucket so I can see if I have lost any. Good suggestion. Panning is great fun. Today I went out and had a wombat come right up to me.. Keep the colour coming.. I guess it's better than finding nothing at all. Cheers

    Panning my local area

Hi, I have been out panning in my local area.. Around old mined creeks in the diamond creek area and surrounds. I have been finding really small pieces of gold (I mean minuet). Where I am looking there is lots of quartz, all different colours. Do you think I am missing some of the gold? Should I...

Some questions about different detectors from a newbie!

I'm from the suburbs in Melbourne.. Out near diamond creek area.. Hence why I have had the pan out and hunting around the old panning and mining sites of he late 1800's. I have found small amounts of gold. It's fun but I'm ready to go for some bigger stuff in the Golden Triangle. I have been...

Some questions about different detectors from a newbie!

Thanks Ronk and metamorphic. I think I am going to save up and get something worthwhile. In the mean time I'll have to hire one. Time to get researching into what I will get when I save some coin.. Hopefully before then I can fund it with gold that I have panned!
