After a few months using this type, i'm onto prototype #2 with added alloy to strengthen. It seems to work great in dry sand but if i rush a hole in wet sand something eventually gives way, cheap and nasty but effective. Still going to buy a $150-200 stainless scoop though. The only problem...

I usually look at the main sunbaking area and if i'm not in the mood or don't have time to grid the area i'll look for disturbed areas. ( can mean they dropped something and tried looking ) otherwise after a few times on the area you'll start to recognise the low areas where sand has been washed...

I found that when i use the standard apple earbuds they bleed enough noise for the sunnies to pick them up like in my first sunnies vid but in this one i was using in-ear earbuds which unfortunately the sunnies don't hear. I'm going back to the apple buds next time i use the sunnies
